Kapa Kapa, or Ghost Mountain Track, was an alternate track used to thwart the Japanese advance on Port Moresby. Approximately 50km eastward from the more well known Kokoda Track, the Kapa Kapa track (or more correctly the Gaba Gaba track) was the chosen route for the American armed forces advance to take Buna and cut off Japanese supplies to the Australian forces defended Kokoda track.
The track itself however, was the greatest threat to the American forces with a huge toll taken by those troops.
